Acupuncture Treatment

According to Chinese medical theory, health disorders occur when your energy called “Qi” becomes blocked, diminished, or redirected. Acupuncture removes restrictions allowing for smooth flow of Qi through 14 major energy pathways known as “meridians” in the body. Traditional Acupuncture is based on the theory of the flow of Qi (Energy) and Xue(Blood) through distinct meridians that cover the whole body somewhat as the nerves and blood vessels do. According to ancient theory, acupuncture allows Qi to flow to areas where it is Deficient and where it is Excess. In this way, acupuncture regulates and restores the harmonious energetic balance of the body. Besides needle insertion, the Acupuncture treatment scope may also include; Electric Stimulation, Cupping, Moxi, Infrared Heat therapy, and Tuina. Treatment normally takes about 45 to 60 minutes.

What is Oriental medicine?

Oriental Medicine originated in China and is the oldest continuously practiced medical system in the world. For more than 25 years Americans have benefited from this ancient healing system. This system of medicine is based on natural laws that describe the movement of life energy in nature and all living beings. The fundamental principle of Oriental Medicine is to treat the whole person, Mind, Body, and Spirit. The intention is to diagnose and treat the root causes of disease in addition to manifested symptoms. Energy(called Qi) flows through the bodies in channels similar to rivers to go through the earth, When the Qi in the body is full and moving freely, health is promoted. When our Qi is depleted or blocked, the disease can begin. Symptoms are the body’s distress signals warning one that there is a problem. The placement of needles at specific points along those channels and appropriate prescription herbal medicine restore the smooth flow of Qi and optimum health.
